2025 Woman of Distinction Award Recipient

Lauren Sok-Owner/Founder

Functionize Health & Physical Therapy

As the founder and head physical therapist at Functionize Health & Physical Therapy, Lauren has built a practice rooted in patient-centered care, innovation, and education. Her leadership is seen not only in the way she mentors her team of clinicians and staff, but in how she constantly seeks to challenge industry norms--shifting away from insurance-driven care models to prioritize true healing. Lauren leads by example, cultivating a culture of growth, collaboration, and integrity.

Lauren has made a significant impact in both Dunwoody and the surrounding communities by offering accessible, high-quality physical therapy that empowers patients to live healthier, more active lives. Beyond the clinic, Lauren is deeply invested in community outreach--partnering with local businesses, hosting workshops, supporting local events, and creating opportunities for others to learn about injury prevention, performance, and long-term wellness.

She's not just providing care--she's building a stronger, healthier community.

Lauren embodies resilience and compassion in all she does. As a small business owner, she has navigated challenges--from economic uncertainty to industry shifts--with grace and strength. She consistently advocates for her patients' needs, even when it means taking the less conventional path.

Her compassion shows in the personalized care every client receives, and her innovation shines in how she integrates movement, Pilates, dry needling, and wellness coaching into a modern physical therapy model. She's not afraid to think differently if it means doing what's right.

Lauren's dedication to her clients, her team, and her community makes her more than deserving of the 2025 Woman of Distinction Award.
